Zettl Homeopathy was founded by Christy Zettl, BSc. (Hons. in Homeopathy) in 2010, to provide homeopathic care to people seeking a safe, effective, and non-invasive approach to health management. Since obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Westminster, London, England, Christy has continued to develop her passion and knowledge through advanced studies, non-profit work with the BC Association of Homeopaths, and her practice as one of a few homeopaths in Canada with a university degree in homeopathy.
What Is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a European system of medicine which involves using highly diluted substances that are intended to kick-start and improve the body’s natural healing system. Homeopathic medicines (known as “remedies”) are usually derived from a single plant or mineral source which is then carefully processed using a system of dilution and succussion (a specific form of vigorous shaking). It is then added to organic sugar-based tablets which dissolve easily on or under the tongue. Remedies are prescribed according to the principles of classical homeopathy.
How It Works
Classical homeopathic treatment is most effective when remedies are holistically selected to match your unique set of symptoms. The desired outcome is improvement on the main complaint as well as in other areas out of balance such as energy levels and sleep. Homeopathic remedies work with your body’s ability to heal and self-regulate, so once results are achieved, further medication is unnecessary.
Does Your Doctor Need To Know
Although homeopathic remedies are natural and safe, it is always important to keep your doctor informed. If you want us to provide your doctor with progress reports or information regarding the specific remedies prescribed for you we would be pleased to provide that information with your written consent.
Homeopathic Remedies and Prescription Medication
Homeopathy does not replace conventional medical treatment, so you should not stop taking any prescribed medication without first consulting with your doctor. However, because homeopathic remedies are considered to be safe and free of side effects, they may be taken in conjunction with conventional medication and may even help with the side effects caused by those medications.
To assess the proper remedy for your condition or complaint we need to understand you and your medical history. That information is used to identify an appropriate remedy and treatment plan. If you have a chronic complaint, a commitment to 4 – 6 appointments is recommended. Once health goals are reached, many patients come back for seasonal ‘top-ups’ as a way of maintaining good health.
Cost and Payment for Services
Homeopathy is not covered by BC’s Medical Services Plan so you are responsible for payment at the time of the visit. If you have extended health care coverage you may be entitled to reimbursement depending on your plan.
Cancelled or Missed Appointments
If you need to cancel or re-book an appointment we require 48-hours’ notice. You will be responsible fees for missed visits or appointments cancelled on less than 48-hours’ notice, together with all applicable taxes.
